Job summary

Regional Group Australia (RGA) seeks an experienced Technical Manager - VIC Quarries to lead sampling, testing and reporting of quarry products at our Pakenham site in Melbourne, VIC. The role ensures compliance with Australian Standards, DTP test methods and company inspection plans, while supporting production teams with technical guidance and quality feedback.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's licence required.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel between quarry sites.
• Strong commitment to safety, integrity, and quality.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Clear and effective communication with technical and operational teams.
• Professional conduct and ethical decision-making.
• NATA signatory-level competency for aggregate testing, desirable.
• Previous quarry operational experience, including knowledge of varied production techniques, desirable.
• Exposure to both hard rock and sand quarry operations, desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling and testing of quarry products in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and DTP test methods.
• Maintain required testing frequencies as outlined in approved Inspection & Test Plans.
• Produce accurate, objective, and traceable test results at all times.
• Report any incidence of undue influence or pressure on test outcomes.
• Raise non-conformances in accordance with company Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) procedures.
• Liaise with quarry production staff regarding product quality and compliance status.
• Offer potential solutions to product deficiencies, within delegated authority and technical limits.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory and field testing equipment.
• Prioritise testing activities based on urgency, production requirements, and customer needs.
