Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Cedar Creek is seeking an experienced Quarry Laboratory Technician to join our Northern Industries team. You will perform onsite sampling, test production materials, and manage data entry using QESTLab in a busy construction-lab setting.

Ideal candidates have soil/aggregate testing background, a Certificate IV in lab techniques, and a current driver’s license. We value safety, collaboration, and hands-on problem solving within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience with soil and aggregate testing in a construction lab.
• Knowledge of AS 1141, AS 1289 and TMR test methods.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to work safely on active construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Onsite sampling of quarry materials.
• Conduct production and compliance testing for aggregates, soils, road base, and CTB.
• Enter test results in laboratory reporting software.
• Perform equipment checks and calibrations.
• Assist with mix designs, blends and quarry R&D to specifications.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Quarry Laboratory Technician to join our Northern Industries team in Cedar Creek.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll bring knowledge of AS 1141, AS 1289, and relevant TMR test methods, along with proven experience in field sampling, and laboratory reporting systems such as QESTLab.

What you’ll do:

• Onsite sampling of quarry materials.
• Undertaking production and compliance testing for samples of aggregate, soils, road base, and CTB material.
• Data entry of test results using laboratory reporting software.
• Equipment checks and calibrations in accordance with the standard and procedures.
• Assisting with the design and performance of laboratory mix designs/ blends and quarry R&D to the required specifications.
• Ensuring compliance with all statutory health, safety, and environmental requirements.

How you’ll connect to the role:

• Previous work history of soil/ aggregate testing.
• Certificate IV in laboratory techniques or signatory (highly advantageous but not essential).
• Current and valid driver's license.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with managers, engineers, and other technical staff.
• Ability to work safely on active construction sites, perform manual handling task, complete equipment setup, and adherence to workplace health and safety requirements.
