Job summary

MBM Marketing is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Brisbane team. You’ll support delivery across education, government, commercial, health and infrastructure sectors and grow within a values-driven, inclusive culture.

The role emphasizes pre- and post-contract cost management, tender analysis and client engagement, with flexible work arrangements and pathways to leadership. AIQS/RICS membership is valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or closely related discipline.
• 2–4 years’ experience, ideally client-side in Australia.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and local procurement.
• AIQS or RICS membership highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Contract: prepare tenders, budgets, cost plans and bills of quantities.
• Post-Contract: progress claims, cost reports and cash flows.
• Attend meetings and contribute to client briefs.
• Conform to MBM quality assurance and safety policies.
• Develop client relationships and proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Requirements:

Pre-Contract:

With supervision carry out preparation of, but not limited to:

• Tender analysis
• Initial budgets and benchmarking
• Elemental and trade-based cost plans
• Bills of quantities
• Bank reports
• Provide tender methodology advice
• Able to value-add to Client’s brief and/or challenges the client’s view when appropriate
• Other work as required

Post Contract:

With supervision carry out preparation and/or prepare, but not limited to:

• Progress claim recommendations
• Bank draw-down reports
• Cost reports and cash flows
• Variation valuations
• Other work as required

Meetings:

Attend all meetings as required

What You Bring

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 2-4years’experience, ideally in a client-side role within Australia.
• Strong command of construction methodologies and local procurement practices.
• Advanced proficiency in CostX and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Organised, professional, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Working towards or holding AIQS or RICS membership is highly regarded.
