Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the AUKUS team delivering Australia's largest defence infrastructure program. You will manage budgets, forecast costs, and drive commercial outcomes across complex projects in South Australia.

Ideal candidates hold MRICS or working towards it, with 4+ years of post-graduate experience in quantity surveying, and a degree in Construction Management, Building or Engineering. Excel proficiency and NV1 security clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification or working towards it.
• Minimum 4 years post graduate experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Degree in Construction Management, Building, Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Australian citizen and able to obtain NV1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, cost planning, forecasting, cash flow and financial reporting.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks to optimise project outcomes.
• Oversee change management, claims and entitlements.
• Build and maintain client, stakeholder and supply chain relationships.

Laing O’Rourke, with joint venture partner Amentum Australia, will play a central role in supporting Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) to develop and deliver the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) project at Osborne, South Australia. We will provide program and construction management services of nuclear related civil infrastructure, site-wide nuclear licensee development expertise, and nuclear safety leadership.

• Build and maintain strong client, stakeholder and supply chain relationships while influencing successful project delivery.

About you

• Attained or working towards obtaining MRICS.
• Minimum 4years’ post graduate experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Construction Management, Building, Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Microsoft software especially Excel.
• Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
