About Us

HTS Constructions Pty Ltd is a project management and construction company specialising in remote works across Australia and the Pacific. HTS prides itself on a high standard of work, a positive and professional culture, and a supportive team environment.

We value teamwork, clear communication and a "pitch in" attitude. You'll join a collaborative team that supports each other, celebrates wins, and works together to get the job done.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Quality Manager to develop, implement and maintain our quality management systems, ensuring our construction projects are delivered in compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards and industry best practice. This is a genuinely technical, hands-on quality role, you'll be equally comfortable auditing a welding procedure, reviewing a concrete pour, or challenging a construction team on an outstanding Hold Point.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll drive consistent quality outcomes, reduce defects and rework, and build a culture of continuous improvement across all projects and business operations. You'll be based at our Support Office with regular site visits, or site-based depending on project needs.

What You'll Be Doing

Quality Systems & Project Assurance

  • Developing, implementing and continually improving the company's Quality Management System (QMS), aligned with ISO 9001 and contractual requirements
  • Developing, implementing and managing Project Quality Plans (PQPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including Hold, Witness, Surveillance and Review points
  • Establishing and verifying Inspection and Test Records (ITRs) and completion evidence
  • Compiling, reviewing and progressively completing MDRs, construction dossiers and turnover/handover packages

Non-Conformance, Defects & Audits

  • Managing the identification, raising, investigation, disposition and close-out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Establishing, categorising, tracking and closing out defects and punch lists through mechanical completion and handover
  • Planning and conducting internal audits, site inspections and system reviews, and supporting external, client and certification audits
  • Analysing NCR trends, ITP status, outstanding inspections and KPI data to drive preventative improvement

Technical & Trade-Specific QA/QC

  • Applying strong knowledge of IFC drawings, specifications, TQs/RFIs, design changes, redlines and as-built requirements
  • Overseeing structural steel QA (fabrication inspection, traceability, welding documentation, coatings, galvanising, bolting and erection)
  • Applying welding quality knowledge (WPS/PQR/WPQ documentation, welder qualifications, weld maps, NDT requirements and traceability)
  • Managing coatings QA/QC (surface preparation, blast profiles, environmental conditions, DFT testing and inspection records)
  • Overseeing civil and concrete QA (earthworks, compaction testing, concrete placement, slump/cylinders, reinforcement, hold points and survey/test results)
  • Overseeing mechanical QA/QC (equipment installation, piping, bolting, alignment, pressure testing, flushing and commissioning documentation)
  • Maintaining electrical & instrumentation QA awareness (cable installation/testing, terminations, earthing, instrumentation and certification interfaces)
  • Managing material traceability (MTCs, certificates of conformity, heat/batch numbers, receiving inspections and preservation requirements)
  • Reviewing subcontractor and supplier ITPs, procedures, qualifications, MDRs and quality performance
  • Interpreting contracts, Scope of Work, specifications and Principal requirements, translating them into measurable QA/QC obligations
  • Coordinating interfaces across engineering, construction, commissioning, HSE, subcontractors and the client's quality representatives
  • Identifying upcoming Hold Points, inspections and documentation requirements ahead of construction to avoid delays
  • Professionally challenging construction teams and representing HTS in discussions with the Principal

Digital Tools & Reporting

  • Working confidently within Aconex/EDMS, workflows, transmittals, correspondence, controlled documents, TQs/RFIs and quality records
  • Providing regular quality reporting to senior management and project leadership, including audit findings and improvement recommendations
What You'll Bring
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering, quality or project management, auditing, or extensive equivalent construction industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar Quality Manager role, or 5 years as a Lead/Senior Quality Advisor
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards across structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and building works
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness, understanding how NCRs, rework, client instructions and design changes create cost and variation exposure
  • Confident, professional communicator, comfortable presenting audit findings and challenging construction teams constructively
  • Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card) and current C class driver's licence
  • Sound understanding of SWMS, ITPs and compliance documentation
  • Cert IV in WHS and Working at Heights Certificate well regarded.
