Job summary

Redpath Partners, in partnership with a leading Tier 2 head contractor, seeks a Senior Services Engineer to join a major data centre project in Sydney. Lead coordination of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and specialist services with PM, Services Manager and consultants.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years' construction experience in services engineering, with data centre project exposure and strong coordination, compliance and value engineering focus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction experience in services engineering or a similar role.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial, mission-critical or data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and specialist services.
• Manage design development, consultant coordination, shop drawings, RFIs and submissions.
• Review designs for constructability, coordination and value engineering.
• Manage services subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to program and quality requirements.
• Oversee procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of services.
• Identify and resolve design clashes and interface risks during construction.
• Ensure services align with approved documentation and project specs.
• Collaborate with Project & Commercial teams on cost, variations and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers to strengthen project performance.

Redpath is partnered with a leading Tier 2 head contractor that is currently a dominant player in the Australian data centre construction market.

They are seeking a high-calibre Senior Services Engineer to join their team delivering a major data centre project in Sydney.

This is an opportunity to work on a high-value, technically complex mission-critical project, taking a senior role in coordinating the building services package alongside the Project Manager, Services Manager, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and client.

The ideal candidate will have strong building services experience, with a proven track record coordinating complex services packages within a live construction environment.

About the Role

As Senior Services Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Lead the coordination and delivery of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and specialist services across the project.
• Manage services design development, consultant coordination, design reviews, shop drawings, RFIs, technical submissions and design changes.
• Review designs for constructability, coordination, compliance and value engineering, working across architectural, structural and services interfaces.
• Manage services subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to deliver works in line with program, quality and project requirements.
• Oversee procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of services packages.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, design clashes and interface risks throughout construction.
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with approved documentation, NCC, Australian Standards and project specifications.
• Work closely with the Project and Commercial teams on cost, variations, procurement and subcontractor performance.
• Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to a high-performing project team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 8+ years’ construction experience in a Services Engineer, Senior Services Engineer or similar role, with a relevant engineering or construction qualification.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial, mission-critical or data centre projects, with strong exposure to complex building services.
• Strong technical capability across services design, design coordination and constructability, including mechanical and electrical services and interfaces with hydraulic, fire and specialist systems.
• Proven experience managing design development, consultant coordination, shop drawings, RFIs, technical submissions, commissioning and services delivery from design through to completion.
• Strong understanding of services installation, testing and commissioning, NCC, Australian Standards and relevant compliance requirements, with excellent stakeholder and subcontractor management skills.
