Job summary

Primo in Sydney’s Chullora manufacturing site is seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor - Operations to lead, coach and inspire a team of Quality Partners within a fast-paced production environment.

This hands-on leadership role works closely with Operations to embed food safety, HACCP compliance and continuous improvement into everyday production, support investigations, audits and CAPA, and translate quality metrics into actionable insights for site performance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing quality role with leadership exposure.
• Strong HACCP, VACCP/TACCP, GMPs and regulatory knowledge.
• Confident communicator who can influence, coach and collaborate across teams.
• Detail-oriented and organised in a fast-paced environment.
• Passionate about continuous improvement and safeguarding consumer safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Quality Partners supporting daily production.
• Oversee routine quality checks, line inspections, environmental monitoring and product testing.
• Ensure HACCP, allergen controls, sanitation and food safety programs are followed.
• Lead investigations into non-conformances and customer complaints using root cause analysis.
• Drive CAPA and monitor effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, Planning, Lab, NPD and R&D for product leadership.
• Support customer visits and audits by regulators and third parties.
• Translate quality metrics into actionable operational insights.
• Support new product launches, process changes and validations.
• Promote a strong food safety culture across the site through coaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Quality Partners supporting daily production activities

• Take an education approach towards ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMPs, allergen controls, sanitation standards and food safety programs
• Lead and support investigations into non‑conformances, quality incidents, and customer complaints using structured root cause analysis
• Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and monitor effectiveness
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, Planning, Laboratory, NPD and R&D teams. to provide technical product leadership and expertise.
• Support customer visits and participate in regulatory, customer, and third‑party audits.
• Translate quality metrics into meaningful operational and business insights
• Support new product launches, process changes, validations and continuous improvement initiatives
• Promote and reinforce a strong food safety culture across the site through coaching and consistent standards

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing quality role, with leadership or coordination exposure
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP, VACCP/TACCP, GMPs, food regulations and customer standards
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence, coach and collaborate across teams
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and comfortable prioritising in a fast‑paced environment
• Passionate about continuous improvement, problem‑solving and safeguarding consumer safety
