Job summary

Workwear Group is seeking a Quality Supervisor to ensure the quality, compliance and performance of uniforms under the Australian Defence Clothing Services (DCS) contract. You will lead QA activities across production, oversee audits, and drive continuous improvement with suppliers and internal teams.

This hands-on role requires deep QA expertise, strong collaboration with suppliers, and the ability to manage non-conformances while maintaining rigorous records and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in quality control, including factory inspections, audits and supplier quality management.
  • ISO 9001 & Lead Auditor experience highly regarded.
  • Experience conducting quality management system (QMS) audits and managing corrective actions.
  • Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing and QA processes in regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee bulk quality control activities across supplier factories, ensuring products meet DCS standards.
  • Conduct initial, inline and final production inspections, identifying issues before shipment.
  • Lead the DCS Internal Audit Program, including scheduling, execution, reporting and corrective action follow-up.
  • Conduct factory audits, announced and unannounced, to verify supplier compliance.
  • Facilitate pre-production reviews and risk assessments to address quality concerns before bulk manufacturing begins.
  • Partner with suppliers to implement corrective actions and improve quality performance.
  • Train supplier quality teams to strengthen inspection capability and adherence to DCS standards.
  • Investigate customer returns, quality incidents and recurring product issues, providing recommendations and driving resolution.
  • Manage rework activities for non-conforming products and monitor supplier effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and audit documentation, communicating with stakeholders.

About the Role

As our Quality Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, compliance and performance of uniforms supplied under the Australian Defence Clothing Services (DCS) contract. Working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders and quality teams, you will lead quality assurance activities across the production lifecycle, oversee internal and factory audit programs, identify and mitigate quality risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This hands-on role combines technical quality expertise, supplier engagement and audit leadership to ensure products consistently meet stringent defence, contractual and regulatory standards while supporting operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee bulk quality control activities across supplier factories, ensuring products meet DCS contractual, regulatory and quality standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Must be able to pass ADF DISP clearance (Australian Citizenship Required)
  • 5+ years' experience in quality control, including factory inspections, audits and supplier quality management.
  • ISO 9001 & Lead Auditor experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience conducting quality management system (QMS) and process audits, including reporting findings and managing corrective actions.
  • Preferably strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing, garment construction and quality assurance processes, ideally within regulated or contract-driven environments.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
