Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in nursing or health degree/diploma with experience in quality improvement and risk management.
• Current registration with Nurses Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and quality frameworks.
• Experience collecting, analysing and using data to generate reports and guide continuous improvement.
• Experience with Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory compliance.

Calling Health Professionals – Quality, Risk & Compliance Officer | Care Services

Bring your clinical expertise and aged care experience to a key quality and compliance role supporting Residential and Community Aged Care Services.

Position Summary

The Quality and Compliance Coordinator – Care Services will play a key role in coordinating and building the capacity of Cultura’s Residential and Home Services (Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Program) to focus on high quality care outcomes for our service participants that align with achievement of quality and safety standards and principles, and care governance expectations.

This position is responsible for the implementation and continual improvement of quality management and compliance systems and processes within all of our aged care programs to ensure all registration/accreditation/certification and legislative compliance requirements are met and align with organisation expectations.

The position’s focus is coordination of the quality management system, and providing compliant, effective leadership in quality and risk management, drive National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator data collection for residential aged care, oversight and monitoring of quality reporting and continuous improvement activities including monitoring and documenting outcomes, and contributing to effective change under the current and new Aged Care Quality Standards/National Disability Practice standards.

This position will be contracted on a permanent full time basis.

Duties

• Prepare for and lead formal quality, registration renewal, accreditation, certification and other external audit/review processes.
• Support relevant database changes within Cultura are implemented in line with organizational and program objectives.
• In conjunction with the Director of Care and Manager Quality, Risk and Compliance, responsible for the collection, revision, compliance and mandatory reporting reportable incidents (Serious Incident Response Scheme and National Disability Insurance Scheme).
• In conjunction with the Director of Care, maintain Continuous Improvement Plan and clinical risk register for each program area so that all improvements are accurately recorded, actioned, measured and evaluated.
• Ensure congruency of NQIP data and identify continuous improvement opportunities accordingly.
• Monitor, review and report to relevant government bodies and Board on service participant related incidents (SIRS), quarterly quality indicators and other identified data to General Manager, Care Services.
• Coordination, review and maintenance of compliance, risk management frameworks including associated software programs.
  Reporting of identified clinical risks through monitoring and reviewing of actions taken to minimize the risks.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Tertiary qualification in nursing or other relevant health degree/diploma with demonstrated relevant experience in quality improvement and risk management.
• Current registration with the Nurses Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
• Comprehensive and demonstrated understanding of the clinical governance and quality frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain, implement, monitor and evaluate information management systems including collecting, analysing and using data and information to generate reports and guide continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated experience and high-level working knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and registration and regulatory compliance.

Desirable

• Experience in working with quality standards and quality assurance in a related industry, such as community services or a similar government funded, not for profit organisation
