Job summary

SYNC designs and manufactures high-quality bathroom pods in Melbourne, with a dedicated QA team ensuring standards are met on the factory floor. The Quality Officer will monitor production, identify non-conformances, and communicate findings to QA and Production teams, while maintaining inspection records on tablets and QA systems.

The role supports continuous improvement, works closely with production leaders, and contributes to a safe, quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing or quality inspection preferred.
  • Hold a valid White Card (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality inspections and checks throughout bathroom pod production.
  • Identify non-conformances or deviations from standard processes and report findings to the QA Manager or Production Manager.
  • Accurately capture and maintain inspection records using tablets and internal QA systems.
  • Assist with QA documentation, reporting, and daily quality tracking activities.
  • Liaise effectively with the QA Team, production operators and leaders regarding quality issues or incomplete process steps.
  • Monitor corrective actions and confirm completion of required rework.
  • Build positive working relationships across QA and production teams, promoting a quality-focused culture.
  • Stay up to date with changes to production processes, drawings, specifications and materials.
  • Escalate any identified safety or quality concerns promptly.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Quality Officer to support the Quality Assurance team in monitoring production activities on the factory floor, ensuring pods are built according to standards, identifying non-conformances, and communicating findings effectively to Production and QA teams.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer literacy, including experience using Outlook, Word, Excel, and tablet-based systems.
  • Ability to read measurements and interpret basic drawings.
  • Experience using tools and layout equipment such as self-levelling lasers, builders squares, measuring tapes, and similar equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a sense of urgency and accountability for quality outcomes.
  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction or quality inspection is advantageous but not essential.
  • Hold a valid White Card (preferred).
