Job summary

SHAPE Sydney, SHAPE Australia’s national head office, is seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality systems across projects. You’ll establish practical processes to support right-first-time delivery, ensure quality obligations are met, and prepare projects for successful handover.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering, building, quality management or related discipline.
• Experience in quality, construction or project assurance in commercial construction or refurbishment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes, contractual quality requirements and quality-management principles.
• Experience with quality-management and document-control platforms; Visibuild and Aconex experience will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to lead audits, manage quality risks and support effective project handover.
• A collaborative communication style, with the ability to coach, challenge and influence project teams and subcontractors.
• Current construction-industry safety credentials and site access requirements appropriate to the role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project-specific Quality Management Plans, procedures, registers and governance frameworks.
• Embed effective processes for inspections, testing, ITPs, hold points, quality records and close-out documentation.
• Lead the implementation and governance of Visibuild, including workflows, reporting, user access and document-control requirements.
• Coach and support project teams and subcontractors to build a proactive quality culture.
• Review subcontractor quality documentation and supporting evidence, identifying and resolving gaps early.
• Manage audit, inspection and reporting programs, using insights to monitor compliance and address emerging quality risks.
• Lead the management of defects, non-conformances and corrective actions, including root-cause reviews and action close-out.
• Oversee quality requirements for completion, commissioning and handover, ensuring all client deliverables are complete and ready for submission.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, quality data and project feedback.
