Job summary

Laing O’Rourke is seeking a Quality Manager to join our AUKUS team in Osborne, South Australia, delivering Defence infrastructure projects that shape the future. You will ensure compliance with contract requirements and ISO 9001 quality management systems, manage quality risks and audits, and oversee inspection, testing and handover.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of construction/engineering experience, knowledge of Australian Standards, strong negotiation skills, and a degree in engineering

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of construction/engineering project experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards (ISO 9001:2015) and industry codes.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience with Project Document Management Systems.
  • Business or engineering degree (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, client specifications, industry standards and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Manage quality risks, non-conformances, corrective actions, defects and audit programs to drive project performance and compliance.
  • Oversee inspection and testing processes, quality documentation, records management and project handover requirements.
  • Conduct internal and external audits of project teams, suppliers and subcontractors to verify quality outcomes and contractual compliance.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely achievement of project requirements.

We are currently seeking a Quality Manager to join our AUKUS team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, client specifications, industry standards and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Manage quality risks, non-conformances, corrective actions, defects and audit programs to drive project performance and compliance.
  • Oversee inspection and testing processes, quality documentation, records management and project handover requirements.
  • Conduct internal and external audits of project teams, suppliers and subcontractors to verify quality outcomes and contractual compliance.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely achievement of project requirements.

About You

  • A minimum of 7–10 years’ construction/engineering project experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Standards (e.g. ISO 9001:2015), Industry Codes and Procedures.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Previous experience with Project Document Management Systems.
  • Business or engineering degree (desirable).
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
