Job summary

Safran Electronics & Defense Australasia Pty Ltd (SEDA) in Sydney is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) across the product lifecycle for defense-related optronic and navigation equipment.

The role focuses on ensuring ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 compliance, driving CAPA, audits, and KPI reporting, while fostering a culture of quality and safety and coordinating with Safran Group policies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quality Management or related field.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing ISO 9001 QMS with AS9100 and ISO 45001.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S continuous improvement.
• Defense/aerospace regulatory manufacturing background.
• Experience with project management in system/product lifecycle.
• Lead Auditor certification and Six Sigma Green Belt/AQAP knowledge are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead, maintain, and improve integrated management system (IMS).
• Ensure compliance with Safran policies, defense and regulatory standards.
• Drive CAPA, 8D, and 5 Whys on production floor.
• Oversee document control, internal and supplier audits, and corrective actions.
• Serve as primary contact for audits and certification bodies.
• Analyze customer complaints and non-conformances to drive improvements.
• Collect and report quality data, KPIs, and BSC metrics.
• Report to Safran HQ on quality performance and initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for improvement through QMS data and trend analysis.
• Promote QRQC deployment and risk meetings.
• Deliver quality training and support for QRQC and problem-solving.
