Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety in Geelong (Barwon Prison) is seeking a Supervisor, Quality and Compliance to ensure the prison adheres to relevant legislation and department policies. The role reports to the Manager, Operational Performance and Compliance and involves leading reviews, audits and policy updates within a high-security correctional setting.

The successful candidate will lead local policy administration, advise on risks, and manage projects aimed at embedding policy

Qualifications

Develops guidelines within the work area.
Resolves operational service delivery problems consistent with program.
Applies sound theoretical and practical expertise in the development of policy options.
Develops and implements operational policy which impacts the immediate work area.
Manages projects, usually under limited direction.
Develops and implements operational communication and consultation strategies on specific projects.
Provides professional technical and specialist advice in field of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

Monitor and report on the location's compliance with local and overarching policies and procedures.
Facilitate the review, update and administration of local policy documents with consideration to department, state and federal legislation and regulations, including the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006.
