Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Prison Supervisor to provide a critical role at Barwon Prison, near Geelong. This full-time position requires managing daily operations and security in a 24/7 environment, with leadership of staff and coordination of correctional services.

Qualifications

• Completion of Prison Officer Pre-service Training is required.
• Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial) or similar is desirable.
• Certificate IV Training and Assessment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational needs of accommodation and/or security areas.
• Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team delivering correctional services.
• Manage performance, coaching and staff development; ensure OHS compliance.
• Contribute to development and review of procedures for prison security and management.
• Participate in forums or committees and provide reports to senior management.
