Singhs Tyre and Auto Centre is seeking a Qualified Motor Mechanic to join our experienced team in Cranbourne West, VIC. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mechanical services to our valued customers. As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards and perform optimally. This position is integral to our business operations and directly impacts customer satisfaction and safety.

Key responsibilities

Diagnose vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge to identify mechanical issues accurately

Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and brake inspections

Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systems

Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance with roadworthiness standards

Perform wheel alignment, balancing, and tyre fitting services as required

Prepare accurate work quotations and communicate repair recommendations to customers in a clear and professional manner

Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all work completed

Ensure all tools, equipment, and workshop areas are kept clean, organised, and safe

Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices within the workshop environment

Work collaboratively with other team members to meet customer deadlines and service schedules

What we're looking for

A recognised motor mechanic qualification or apprenticeship completion in automotive repair or maintenance

Current driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles as part of diagnostic and quality assurance procedures

Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computerised testing tools

Strong understanding of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, suspension, and brake systems

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults

Proven ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a busy workshop environment

Strong communication skills to explain technical issues and repairs to customers effectively

Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety in the workplace

Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models

Preferred experience in tyre fitting and wheel balancing services
