Complete Mechanical Centre in Hoppers Crossing, VIC is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic for a full-time role. You will diagnose faults, perform maintenance, repair engines and transmissions, and communicate findings to customers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience as Motor Mechanic in a workshop
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and testing

Complete Mechanical Centre is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Hoppers Crossing, Victoria. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of vehicles whilst delivering exceptional service to our valued customers. As a Motor Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and reputation of our business by performing diagnostic work, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles of all makes and models. This position is integral to our operations, ensuring that every vehicle leaving our facility meets the highest standards of safety and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle faults using specialised diagnostic equipment and testing procedures
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and belt inspections
• Repair and replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical components
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and provide customers with detailed reports on work required
• Carry out brake system repairs and maintenance in accordance with safety standards
• Perform wheel alignment, balancing, and tyre repairs
• Document all work completed accurately and maintain comprehensive service records
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues, repair recommendations, and timeframes
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised work environment

What we're looking for

• Proven experience of at least 3-5 years working as a Motor Mechanic in a professional workshop or service centre environment
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computer-based vehicle diagnostic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical customers
• Physical capability to perform the demanding nature of mechanical work, including lifting and standing for extended periods
• Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
• Valid driver's licence
• Knowledge of relevant automotive industry standards and regulations
