Green by Nature in Melbourne is seeking a qualified horticulturist to lead maintenance teams across premium green spaces. You will oversee mowing, pruning, mulching, irrigation and seasonal planting, ensuring high presentation standards.

You will possess a Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens, strong communication, and a mature, reliable team-player attitude to deliver safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens required.
• Strong team leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with common horticultural tools and equipment.

Responsabilités

• Lead a team of horticultural maintenance staff and oversee task completion.
• Perform regular maintenance: mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching and fertilising.
• Maintain ornamental gardens, hedges, lawns, and feature planting areas to premium standards.
• Operate and maintain tools, machinery and irrigation systems safely.
• Assist in seasonal planting, turf renovation and landscape projects.
• Identify and treat pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies.
• Collaborate with grounds and facilities staff to support school events.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leading a team of horticultural maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
• Perform regular horticultural maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, and fertilising
• Maintain ornamental gardens, hedges, lawns, and feature planting areas to premium presentation standard
• Operate and maintain horticultural tools, machinery, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
• Assist in seasonal planting, turf renovation, and landscape improvement projects
• Identify and treat plant pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies
• Work collaboratively with grounds and facilities staff to support school events and operational needs

About You

This is an amazing opportunity if you are looking for the next stepping stone in your career or want to work at one of Green by Nature's prominent sites.

You have a Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens and excellent working knowledge of all of the tools and equipment used in the field, such as hedgers, whipper snippers, blowers, hand tools and some petrol operated equipment.

You are willing to obtain a White Card and Working with Children's check if you don't already have them.

You pride yourself on your well-honed communication skills.

Most importantly you have proven ability to effectively prioritise workflows, impart knowledge to others and be a mature and reliable team player.
