Job summary

Green by Nature AU is seeking a hands-on Horticulture Team Leader to manage maintenance across premium green spaces in Melbourne.

You will lead a small team, perform routine mowing, pruning, weeding, mulching, and fertilising, and ensure safe operation of tools and equipment. White Card and Working with Children's checks are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens required.
• Excellent working knowledge of tools and equipment used in the field.
• Willing to obtain White Card and Working with Children's check.
• Strong communication and prioritisation skills; reliable team player.
• Ability to mentor others and maintain premium presentation standards.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Assist with leading a team of horticultural maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
• Perform regular horticultural maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, and fertilising
• Maintain ornamental gardens, hedges, lawns, and feature planting areas to premium presentation standard
• Operate and maintain horticultural tools, machinery, and irrigation systems safely and effectively
• Assist in seasonal planting, turf renovation, and landscape improvement projects
• Identify and treat plant pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies
• Work collaboratively with grounds and facilities staff to support school events and operational needs

About You

You have a Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens and excellent working knowledge of all of the tools and equipment used in the field, such as hedgers, whipper snippers, blowers, hand tools and some petrol operated equipment.

You are willing to obtain a White Card and Working with Children's check if you don't already have them.

You pride yourself on your well-honed communication skills.
