Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia seeks an experienced Qualified Flying Instructor (Category A) to join the AH-64 Apache sustainment team in Townsville, North Queensland. You will deliver AH-64E airborne, synthetic, and ground instruction and oversee flight operations to develop pilot capability in a sovereign capability program.

Essential qualifications include AH-64E qualification and extensive turbine rotary wing hours, with a focus on instructional experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2,000 hours total turbine rotary wing flying.
• At least 1,500 hours Pilot in Command.
• At least 250 hours AH-64E flying, with 100 hours PIC.
• At least 700 hours instructional experience (500+ hours aircraft instructional).
• NVD qualification or civilian equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality AH-64E airborne, synthetic, and ground instruction.
• Oversee AH-64E flying operations following established protocols.
• Maintain flying currency and professional qualifications per Army Aviation orders.
• Promote safety culture and lead in safety practices.
• Manage instructional and administrative tasks to ensure training workflows.
• Contribute to evolving training methodologies and team performance.
