Job description

Qualified Educator (Certificate III)

Before I can write my name, I know who makes me feel safe. I know the person who smiles when I come in.

About This Role

Qualified Educator (Certificate III)

Before I can write my name, I know who makes me feel safe.

I know the person who smiles when I come in.

The person who gets down low so I can see their face.

The person who helps when my tower falls down, my shoes are on the wrong feet, or my feelings feel too big.

I know who helps me feel safe enough to run, climb, paint, sing, ask questions, make friends and try again.

Some days I want to be a dinosaur.

Some days I need a kind word before I am ready to play.

At Only About Children Brighton East, that person could be you.

We're looking for a warm, professional and committed Qualified Educator (Certificate III) to join our team.

About Our Brighton East Campus

At Brighton East, my day feels calm, spacious and thoughtfully made. I arrive on South Road, close to buses, Moorabbin Station and Bayside communities. The campus feels modern, practical and easy for families. I learn in purpose-built indoor spaces where I can play, rest, create and build friendships, then move outside to explore bike tracks, a sandpit, climbing structures, mud kitchen, vegetable garden and worm farm. I can also see the kitchen where food is prepared, which makes me curious about what I eat. Inside and outside, I can ask questions, try new things and feel safe, nurtured and excited to learn.

You're The Difference

At OAC, they say You're The Difference. I think that means you help my day feel safe, happy and full of things to discover. Because of you, I can be curious, brave, messy and proud when I try something new. You may call it early learning. For me, it is my world getting bigger, one safe and happy moment at a time.

About The Role

In this role, you help me and my friends feel safe enough to play, rest, wonder and grow.

You notice what makes my eyes light up, like bugs, blocks, books, water, music, painting or pretend play, and turn those sparks into learning.

What You'll Do
  • My room feels safest when you create calm routines, thoughtful play and time to explore with confidence.
  • My learning grows when you follow my curiosity, from stories and blocks to paint, nature, music and pretend play.
  • My progress becomes visible when you notice what I try, enjoy and learn, then help share that story.
  • My imagination stretches when you set up spaces where I can move, build, dig, dance, create and try again.
  • My family feels connected when you share my day with warmth, care and professionalism.
What You'll Bring
  • A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Experience helping young children learn, play and feel safe in their own way.
  • Understanding of child development, the EYLF and NQF.
  • First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
  • Warm communication with children, families and your team.
  • Deep care for my safety, wellbeing, voice and inclusion.
  • A Working with Children Check and relevant clearance.
What We Offer
  • OAC helps you feel valued for the difference you make, with above award pay, worker retention payment and recognition programs.
  • Your family matters too, with up to 50% childcare discount for eligible team members, paid parental leave and salary sacrifice options.
  • Professional development, Grow Curriculum training and expert-led sessions help you bring fresh ideas into my day.
  • Study support, paid study leave where eligible and campus pathways help your career keep growing.
  • OAC Rewards, Wellbeing Days, TELUS Health EAP and digital wellbeing resources help support life inside and outside work.
  • When you feel supported, I feel it in the way my room feels safe, happy and ready to explore.
Child safety and inclusion

I need to feel safe before I can learn, play and grow. At OAC, child safety comes first. There is zero tolerance for child abuse and harm. Everyone who joins the team must help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive place where children have a voice, feel safe, and are valued and respected. You will need to complete all required working with children, background and compliance checks. OAC welcomes people from all backgrounds who share this commitment.
