Job summary

Blackwood Hotel is seeking an experienced Chef to join our passionate hospitality team in Blackwood, VIC. You will lead a fast-paced kitchen, ensure high-quality dishes, and uphold hygiene and safety standards.

You will work alongside the head chef, manage stock and staff, and contribute to budget goals while delivering exceptional guest experiences with professionalism and creativity.

Qualifications

• Commercial Cookery qualifications required.
• 3–4 years in a similar, fast-paced kitchen role.
• High hygiene standards and personal presentation.
• Positive, reliable, punctual with a proactive attitude.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
• Commitment to health and safety practices.
• Experience working with head chef to meet budgets.
• Develop standards to improve efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Food prep and production for à la carte dishes.
• Kitchen setup and breakdown before/after service.
• Maintain safe work environment and food safety practices.
• Stock control and rotation.
• Supervise apprentices and kitchen staff.
• Coordinate with front-of-house and kitchen teams.
