Lachlan Fleming Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a Qualified Carpenter and 4th year Carpentry Apprentice to join our Woodend, Victoria team. This full-time position offers diverse carpentry and construction work in a collaborative, professional environment.

The role supports skill development and career progression in carpentry and cabinet-making. Applicants should have a current carpentry trade qualification or be nearing completion of their 2nd year; 3rd and 4th year apprentices are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Execute carpentry tasks on residential and commercial projects with precision.
• Interpret building plans, specifications and drawings to guide on-site work.
• Measure, cut, shape and fit timber and other materials to project requirements.
• Install frameworks, flooring, roofing, wall and door systems to specification.
• Perform finishing work including sanding and protective treatments on timber surfaces.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and participate in tool maintenance.
• Collaborate with other trades on site to ensure on-time completion within budget.

Qualified Carpenter / 4th year Carpentry Apprentice

Lachlan Fleming Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a Qualified Carpenter and 4th year Carpentry Apprentice to join our growing team based in Woodend, Victoria. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work on diverse carpentry and construction projects in a collaborative and professional environment. Whether you are a fully qualified tradesperson or nearing completion of your apprenticeship, this role will provide you with the chance to develop your skills, contribute to high-quality construction work, and progress your career in the carpentry and cabinet-making industry.

What you’ll be doing

• Execute carpentry tasks on residential and commercial construction projects with precision and attention to detail


• Interpret building plans, specifications and technical drawings to guide project execution


• Measure, cut, shape and fit timber and other materials according to project requirements


• Install frameworks, flooring, roofing, wall and door systems to specification


• Perform finishing work including sanding, staining and protective treatments on timber surfaces


• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and participate in regular tool maintenance


• Adhere to workplace health and safety standards, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment


• Collaborate effectively with other trades and construction team members on site


• Support site supervisors and project managers to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget


• For apprentices: continue development of practical carpentry skills under supervision of experienced tradespeople

What we’re looking for

• Current carpentry trade qualification or demonstrated completion of 2rd year apprenticeship (3rd and 4th year apprentices welcome to apply)


• Strong understanding of building codes, standards and safe work practices within the carpentry trade


• Proven ability to read and interpret building plans, technical drawings and specifications


• Competency in the use of hand and power tools relevant to carpentry work


• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Reliable work ethic with strong time management and organisational abilities


• Current or willingness to obtain a White Card (general construction induction card) or equivalent


• Current driving licence (desirable for site-based work)


• Previous experience in residential or commercial carpentry projects is highly valued


• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the trade
