Job summary

Mirza Construction Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Qualified Bricklayer to join our residential building team. You will read plans, lay bricks and blocks, and ensure walls, arches and foundations meet Australian building standards.

You'll work across multiple sites, collaborate with supervisors and apprentices, care for safety, and maintain quality while using hand and power tools to cut and shape bricks as required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Familiarity with Australian safety standards and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans, diagrams, and project specifications to determine layout and material needs.
• Lay bricks, blocks and other materials using mortar, ensuring even alignment and structural integrity.
• Operate hand and power tools to shape and cut bricks when required.
• Mix mortar and other bonding materials to the correct consistency.
• Build and maintain walls, arches, corners, foundations, fences and partitions.
