Job summary

Vikram Homes Pty Ltd (Vikram Homes) in Yarrabilba, Queensland seeks a qualified Bricklayer for a full-time, 38-hour week role on a permanent basis. You will build residential walls, read plans, and work with the construction team to deliver projects across Brisbane's metro area.

Applicants must hold a Certificate III in Bricklaying/Bricklaying and Blocklaying, with at least 1 year of residential experience.

Vikram Homes Pty Ltd (Vikram Homes) is an established residential construction business based in Yarrabilba, Queensland, undertaking residential building projects across the greater Brisbane Metropolitan and surrounding regions, QLD. Due to continued business growth and increasing project requirements, we are seeking a qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Bricklayer to join our team on a full-time basis (38 hrs per week).

Task & responsibilities

• Laying bricks, blocks and other masonry materials to build residential walls
• Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
• Cutting and trimming bricks using hand and power tools
• Restoring, cleaning existing brick structures
• Setting out and preparing areas for brickwork
• Measuring and marking surfaces and determining material requirements
• Mixing and applying mortar
• Constructing walls, partitions, foundations and other masonry structures
• Cutting and shaping bricks and masonry materials as required checking vertical and horizontal alignment of bricks and is completed to required standards
• Repairing and maintaining existing brickwork where required
• Working effectively with builders, supervisors and other trades
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Bricklaying/Bricklaying and Blocklaying (or equivalent recognised trade qualification) – mandatory
• Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience working as a Bricklayer in the residential construction industry – mandatory
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Sound knowledge of bricklaying techniques, materials and construction practices
• Ability to accurately measure, set out and complete brickwork
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
