Job summary

Coburg Structural Steel is seeking a Qualified Boilermaker / Structural Steel Fabrication specialist to join our Coburg North VIC facility on a full-time basis. You will interpret technical drawings and perform precision welding and fabrication while working with skilled tradespeople on high-quality structural steel components.

Qualifications

• Current trade qualification as a Boilermaker.
• Experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Skilled in MIG, TIG and stick welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and work to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy in all fabrication work
• Perform precision welding on structural steel components and boilermaking projects using various welding techniques and equipment
• Operate sheet metal machinery, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently
• Prepare materials for fabrication, including measuring, marking, cutting and fitting components
• Assemble structural steel and boilermaking components according to specifications and quality standards
• Conduct quality checks and inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards
• Maintain and care for tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
• Collaborate with other team members, supervisors and clients to ensure project deadlines and expectations are consistently met
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices
