Job summary

Brunton Engineering & Construction in Somerton, VIC is seeking an experienced Boilermaker/Welder for heavy structural steel fabrication on major infrastructure projects. You will read drawings, set out and weld heavy beams and girders to exacting standards.

This full-time role offers hands-on fabrication, a collaborative workshop environment, overtime opportunities and the chance to contribute to technically challenging builds.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret specifications.
• Proficient in MIG/MAG and FCAW welding on heavy steel sections.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Fabricating and assembling heavy structural steel beams, girders and components.
• Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, specifications and WPS.
• Marking out, cutting, fitting and tack-welding components.
• Achieving high-quality welds and meeting tolerances and QA requirements.
• Working to AS 1554 and other welding procedures.
• Collaborating with supervisors and trades to complete work safely.
