Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Western Sydney is seeking a QC Officer to join our fresh produce manufacturing site. The role is full-time and casual with progression opportunities, requiring flexibility to work day or afternoon shifts.

You will conduct routine quality control inspections, perform in-process checks, collect samples for microbiological and shelf-life testing, maintain quality records, and ensure GMP and HACCP compliance with production teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is essential.
• Tertiary qualifications in Food Science are not essential but highly regarded.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise tasks.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine QC inspections of fresh produce to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
• Perform in-process and finished product checks including weight, temperature, seal integrity, and sensory tests.
• Collect samples for microbiological and shelf-life testing to meet customer specs and regulatory requirements.
• Complete quality documentation and production records; investigate non-conformances.
• Collaborate with production teams to monitor GMP, HACCP and food safety compliance.

About the company/role:

Our client is a fresh produce manufacturer supplying salads and ready-to-eat meal to major retailers across Australia. They are seeking a QC Officer to join their team at their site in Western Sydney. It is a requirement to be flexible to work across day or afternoon shift. This is a full-time, casual role with opportunities for progression.

Duties:

• Conduct routine quality control inspections of fresh produce products to ensure compliance with food safety and product quality standards.
• Perform in-process and finished product checks, including weight verification, temperature monitoring, seal integrity assessments, and sensory evaluations.
• Collect samples for microbiological and shelf-life testing, ensuring products met customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Complete quality documentation and production records and investigated non-conformances.
• Work closely with production teams to monitor GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance.

Skills/experience:

• Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment is essential
