Job summary

Compass Education is seeking a QA Engineer to join Griddle, the team behind our school timetabling platform. The role blends testing and feature delivery (roughly 50/50) with a clear pathway into full stack development as you grow your engineering skills.

You will own manual testing, write automated tests, and collaborate closely with engineers to ensure safe releases. Based in our Melbourne hub with a hybrid work model, you’ll have opportunities for learning and development, including a

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in manual testing with test management/automation tooling.
• Comfort writing automated tests (UI/API).
• Experience using AI tools to speed up testing and development.
• Ability to run end-to-end release testing with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of manual testing for tickets in the test environment.
• Run final pre-release regression and sign-off testing across the platform.
• Write automated tests to reduce manual testing load over time.
• Use AI tools to accelerate test design, data generation and scripting.
• Collaborate with engineers as the last checkpoint before release.
