Job summary

BHP is seeking a Specialist Asset Health Development expert in Adelaide to build Python-first time-series analytics for asset health diagnosis and prognosis. You will leverage AVEVA PI/PI AF data and Snowflake to deploy scalable analytics patterns across sites and asset classes.

You will work with reliability engineers and operations teams to ensure actionable insights, rigorous documentation, and continuous improvement of analytics quality and alerting.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Python for time-series processing and analytics detection.
• Strong SQL skills and experience building analytics datasets in Snowflake.
• Familiarity with enterprise time-series historians (AVEVA PI / PI AF) and telemetry challenges.
• Ability to validate analytics with operational stakeholders and tune performance over time.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain time-series Asset Health analytics.
• Develop Python analytics scripts to detect degradation, drift, and early warning signals.
• Perform time-series preparation and feature engineering (resampling, smoothing, rolling stats).
• Apply statistical or machine learning techniques with emphasis on interpretable analytics for maintenance action.
• Document logic, thresholds, and limitations for repeatable adoption.
• Scale analytics patterns across equipment types and sites.
• Support deployment of Asset Health analytics across workflows and dashboards.
• Standardise reusable analytics templates and QA checks for replication.
• Monitor and optimise deployed analytics to improve alert quality.
