Job summary

Glencore is recruiting a Field Maintainer Mechanical to join our open-cut operations in Queensland. Reporting to the Field Maintenance Crew Supervisor, you will maintain and repair mobile mining equipment such as rope shovels, excavators, drills and quarry gear, ensuring reliability and safety.

The role requires a Heavy Diesel Trade Qualification with 5+ years post-trade experience and the ability to work independently or in a team within a diverse mining environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ Years post trade experience with a Heavy Diesel Trade Qualification.
• Diverse fleet experience of heavy machinery.
• High level of commitment to safety and proficiency.
• Ability to work unsupervised, individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general mechanical repairs and maintenance on Rope Shovels, Excavators, Drills and Quarry Equipment.
• Replace mechanical components on associated equipment.
• Conduct component overhauls and refurbishment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Support the field maintenance team to maximise equipment reliability and availability.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and motivated Field Maintainer Mechanical to join our dynamic and successful team. Reporting directly to the Field Maintenance Crew Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing mobile mining equipment. This multifaceted position will involve:

• Carrying out general mechanical repairs and maintenance on:
  • Rope Shovels
  • Excavators
  • Drills
  • Quarry Equipment
• Replacing mechanical components on associated equipment.

We are only a one and quarter hour drive from the beautiful Mackay hinterland and a two- and half-hour drive from Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands and have a diverse group of people at our operation commuting from multiple locations in Queensland such as Rockhampton and Townsville, to name a few. Commercial Flight Support is available per written request for senior staff members and above, for flights from Mackay (MKY) to Brisbane (BNE) return.
