Job summary

Qualifications

• Comfortable with Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders end to end, from placement through to delivery.
• Work with suppliers to schedule and expedite deliveries, manage backorders and keep lead times under control.
• Review material requirements against MRP and production schedules, and flag issues to internal teams early.
• Source quotes and manage day-to-day supplier relationships.
• Support packaging procurement, including custom packaging.
• Coordinate artwork and marketing requirements with customers and third parties.
• Maintain ERP item master data and procurement records.
• Negotiating with packaging suppliers.

Purchasing Officer - Packaging Focus

Rhodes, NSW | $95k-$100k + super | Hybrid (min. 3 days in office)

The opportunity

A well-established Australian manufacturer is looking for a Purchasing Officer to join its lean Procurement team in Rhodes. This is a hands-on, operational role with a strong focus on packaging procurement, and it's a chance to take real ownership of a defined portfolio from day one.

With the team currently small, you'll fill a significant operational gap, get genuine exposure across the business and have a clear voice in how things run.

What you'll be doing

• Managing purchase orders end to end, from placement through to delivery
• Working with suppliers to schedule and expedite deliveries, manage backorders and keep lead times under control
• Reviewing material requirements against MRP and production schedules, and flagging issues to internal teams early
• Sourcing quotes and managing day-to-day supplier relationships

About you

• Around 2-5 years' hands-on purchasing or procurement experience, ideally in manufacturing, FMCG or food

• Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment

• Comfortable with Excel and ERP systems. Dynamics 365 experience is beneficial but not essential, as the system is easy to pick up
