About the Role

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the right products and materials are purchased at the right time, at the right price and delivered where they are needed.

You’ll work closely with suppliers, freight providers, warehouse teams, finance and internal stakeholders to coordinate purchasing activities, maintain accurate product and pricing information, monitor stock levels and resolve supply issues.

From processing purchase orders and analysing sales trends to coordinating stock transfers and assisting with international container orders, this is a varied, hands‑on role offering exposure to multiple aspects of purchasing and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and order management: Prepare and process purchase orders, monitor outstanding orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

  • Supplier relationships and negotiation: Build effective supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, manage supplier contracts and research potential new vendors.

  • Inventory and stock management: Analyse sales history, monitor stock levels, maintain product and SKU information, identify slow‑moving or obsolete stock and support stock optimisation.

  • International purchasing and logistics: Assist with overseas container orders, coordinate freight and deliveries, review freight costs and explore efficient transport options.

  • Stock transfers and distribution: Arrange stock transfers between CCG stores and warehouses, coordinating with warehouse teams to support efficient storage and product availability.

  • Pricing and product information: Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier pricing and product item cards within business systems.

  • Problem‑solving and communication: Investigate supplier discrepancies, resolve delivery issues and communicate supply risks or product availability concerns to relevant teams.

  • Continuous improvement: Monitor market pricing and new products, identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and contribute to a safe, quality‑focused workplace.

About You

You are a proactive and organised professional who enjoys balancing competing priorities and taking ownership of tasks from order placement through to delivery. You're comfortable communicating with suppliers, investigating discrepancies and using data to make informed purchasing decisions.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to review sales and stock data.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and business systems to maintain records and analyse information.

  • A practical, solutions‑focused approach to resolving supply, freight and delivery challenges.

  • A commitment to ethical conduct, workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Experience that would be highly regarded:
  • Experience using an ERP or inventory management system.

  • Exposure to international purchasing, importing, freight coordination or container shipments.
