Job summary

H&D Automotive Pty Ltd in Brisbane is hiring a Purchasing Officer to own how stock comes into the business, from orders to invoices.

You will consolidate open POs, chase back orders, match invoices, and establish reorder levels, forecasting, and supplier terms. The role is full-time in Darra, Brisbane, with a fast-growing environment.

You will work with an in-house tech-driven team to build tools that speed purchasing and keep stock aligned with demand.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in purchasing, procurement or inventory control.
• Automotive parts knowledge is a big plus.
• Forecast order quantities from sales history and lead times.
• Proficient with inventory and accounting software; strong spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent communication with suppliers; Australian work rights.

Responsibilities

• Review outstanding purchase orders, consolidate them, and close out the ones that are done
• Track incoming and back-ordered parts, and keep that list current
• Tell customers when their back-ordered part will arrive, before they have to chase us
• Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and sort out the ones that don’t line up
• Deal with suppliers on ship dates, short deliveries, pricing and terms
• Raise purchase orders and set reorder levels across the range
• Forecast parts demand from sales history, supplier lead times and what’s coming up
• Work with sales, dispatch and our Head of Operations so the stock we promise is the stock we have
• Report each week on open POs, back orders and stock on hand
