Full time Darra, Brisbane Mon to Fri Owns purchasing end to end
Own how stock comes into the business, from the order going out to the invoice being closed off. Clean up what’s open now, then take over the buying.
H&D Automotive sells 4×4 performance parts and spares globally from our warehouse in Darra, Brisbane. Most of our customers drive LandCruisers, Patrols and Hiluxes, and plenty of them want more power or more reliability out of a 1HD-FTE, 1HZ or TD42. They buy from our web store, over the phone and at the counter. Workshops and dealers buy from us on trade accounts.
We’re hiring a Purchasing Officer to own how stock comes into the business, from the order going out to the invoice being closed off.
We’re a fast-growing business, often seeing 45 to 80% growth year on year, with a team of 22. Every time we grow, a department feels it. First it was dispatch and the warehouse. Now it’s purchasing.
Our experienced team places purchase orders in between everything else they do. Nobody owns what happens after that. Back orders get chased when a customer rings asking where their part is. Invoices get matched when someone finds the time. Old POs sit open long after the parts have landed.
You’ll start by cleaning that up. Consolidate and close out the open POs, get the invoices matched, and build a clear list of what’s incoming and what’s on back order. Once that’s under control, the buying moves to you. That means reorder levels, forecasting, supplier terms, and deciding what we stock and how much of it.
We’re a tech heavy business with in-house developers who can build software to keep up with demand. If a report or tool would make purchasing faster, we can build it, and process changes can happen the same day. What we need is someone who knows how purchasing should run and will hold it to that standard.
We’re a small business. Your decisions stick, and you’ll see them in our stock levels and back order list within weeks. Some days you’ll also be doing work that isn’t on the list above.
