Job summary

Unipumps is seeking an experienced pump technician to join our team in the Sydney basin. You will be motivated, mechanically and electronically minded with a practical and common sense approach to servicing various pump systems including stormwater, sewer, carwash, mains water pressure, rainwater and undersink.

The role involves preventative service work, corrective repairs, and vocations requiring independent work or small teams for larger installations.

Qualifications

• Experience in pump industry, plumbing, mechanical or electrical fields.
• Able to provide clear reporting for records and quotes.
• Willing to work after-hours and on rostered emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative service work alongside existing technicians
• Carry out corrective quoted repairs
• Replace pumps, control panels, float switches and pipework
• Clean pits and tanks with Unipumps low clearance vacuum truck (Manual Licence Required)
• Take on these responsibilities working independently
• Work as part of a team for larger installs or major pit cleaning requiring 2 technicians
• Respond to emergency call outs and afterhours assistance as required

Job description

Unipumps is seeking an experienced pump technician to join our team. You will be motivated, mechanically and electronically minded with a practical and common sense approach to solving problems that arise while carrying out the servicing of various types of pump systems. These include stormwater, sewer, carwash, mains water pressure, rainwater and undersink. The servicing of these systems is expected to be carried out in a timely and efficient manner reporting back any issues and requirements for the system to be kept operational.

Key responsibilities

Assist with preventative service work alongside existing technicians

Carry out corrective quoted repairs

Replace pumps, control panels, float switches and pipework

Clean pits and tanks with Unipumps low clearance vacuum truck (Manual Licence Required)

Take on these responsibilities working independently

Work as part of a team for larger installs or major pit cleaning requiring 2 technicians

Respond to emergency call outs and afterhours assistance as required

The candidate we are looking for will:

Have had previous experience in either the pump industry, plumbing, mechanical or electrical fields.

Be presentable both in person, over the phone and in writing.

Be able to work individually and in a team environment.

Be able to provide clear and concise reporting for record keeping and quoting.

Be confident and competent once trained to navigate around Unipumps Field Services Reporting App SM8.

Not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and be prepared to dig in to achieve the goals for which we are aiming for.

Be available for after-hours emergency call out work on a roster basis or in the case of a major rain event.

Have a Confined Space ticket preferably but training can be provided for the right candidate.

Have an Electrical Connect & Disconnect ticket preferably for applicants from the pump or plumbing industries but training can be provided for the right candidate.

Have an up to date Working With Children Certificate

Preferably centrally located within the Sydney basin (Parramatta or Surrounding Area)
