Job summary

ITT Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to service and fabricate components for pump sets and related equipment.

The role involves disassembly, assessment, measurement, and repair of fittings, fixtures, and structures used in pumping systems, alongside assembly and testing activities in the workshop and on site. Ideal candidates will have a Trade certificate in Mechanical Fitting, a minimum of 6 years' practical experience with pump types, and strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate or equivalent in mechanical fitting.
• Experience with repair and servicing of pumping equipment.

Responsibilities

• Strip down, assess, measure and report on pumps and rotating equipment.
• Service and assemble pump sets and associated equipment, including repair of fittings and structures.
• Perform spray painting with enamel paint; maintain workshop safety and cleanliness.
• Perform rotating equipment alignment using dial indicators or laser equipment.
• Complete hydrostatic tests to nominated standards and directions.
• Follow written instructions and checkpoints prior to handover of paperwork.
• Coordinate with supervisor to ensure stock availability for workshop and site work.
• Demonstrate fault-finding abilities to minimize breakages and downtime.
