Job summary

Rockmount is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter in a workshop setting, based near Sydney. The role is a Temp to Perm opportunity, starting on assignment through Rockmount with a genuine pathway to permanent employment with the client.

You will service, repair and rebuild a variety of pumps in a dedicated workshop, with an emphasis on safety and quality documentation, and potential overtime in busy periods.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical fitting.
• Ability to work in a workshop with pumps.
• Forklift licence is a nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, repairing and rebuilding pumps in a workshop environment.
• Working across a wide mix of pump types: centrifugal, gear, lobe, screw, vane, progressive cavity, peristaltic and diaphragm.
• Carrying out flow testing and performance testing.
• Completing service reports, test results and maintenance documentation.
• Spray painting pumps and components as part of the workflow.
• Adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.

Rockmount is recruiting on behalf of an established pump company based in Wetherill Park. They need a Mechanical Fitter to get stuck into a workshop full of pumps, and yes, they come in more than one flavour. This is a Temp to Perm opportunity — you'll start on assignment through Rockmount, with a genuine pathway to permanent employment with our client.

What you'll be doing:

• Servicing, repairing and rebuilding pumps in a workshop environment
• Working across a wide mix of pump types: centrifugal, gear, lobe, screw, vane, progressive cavity, peristaltic and diaphragm
• Working on bearings, seals, shafts, couplings and other mechanical components
• Carrying out flow testing and performance testing
• Completing service reports, test results and maintenance documentation
• Spray painting pumps and components as part of the workflow
• Adhering to workplace health and safety procedures

What you'll need:

• Cert III in Mechanical Fitting
• Your own basic hand tools (workbenches and major tools are supplied)
• Steel toe boots, long pants and hi-vis shirt
• Forklift licence is a nice to have
• Pump experience is preferred, but if you're a solid fitter new to the pump game, we still want to hear from you
