Job summary

Pump Power Australia is seeking an experienced Pump Service Technician to join our team on a full-time basis, working in both our workshop and in the field. The role covers pump service, repair, and assembly, with on-site attendance and facility upkeep.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in fitting and turning, strong mechanical skills, forklift experience, and a solid WH&S background. You will contribute to high-quality service and customer satisfaction across commercial and industrial pump

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as Fitter & Turner or equivalent role.
• Forklift license and experience.
• Solid understanding of WHS requirements.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team.

Responsibilities

• Strip, service and repair pumps and pump types.
• Assemble new pumps from parts and attend job sites for repairs.
• Maintain tidy workshop and handle parts shipments.
• Study drawings and specifications to set up operations.
• Inspect parts for accuracy and tolerances with precision tools.
• Erect pumps and equipment on-site when required.

Job description

Pump Power Australia is on the lookout for an experienced and qualified Pump Service Technician to join our professional staff on a full-time basis in our workshop and out in the field.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Strip, assess, service and repair a variety of pumps and pump types
• Assemble new pumps from parts
• Attendance of job sites where pump repairs are required
• Maintaining a tidy workshop and maintaining tools & equipment
• Store duties including receiving shipments, pick & packing spare parts for customer orders
• Other assistance with "rainy day" duties
• Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings.
• Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
• Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
• Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
• Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
• May erect pumps and associated equipment on-site

Experience & attributes:

• Forklift license and experience
• Strong mechanical skills & prior experience with pumps
• Solid understanding of and commitment to WHS requirements
• Keen attention to detail & problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as part of a team with minimal managerial oversight
• 5 years experience as Fitter & Turner
• Restricted electrical workers license is advantageous
• Good personal presentation & interpersonal skills
• Mechanical service technician skills
• 5 or more years experience working with rotating machinery and or pumps
