Job summary

Hunter Valley Operations is seeking a confident operator to install, operate and troubleshoot pumps in our West Facility. You will monitor performance, conduct inspections and maintain records to support reliable mining operations.

Based in NSW, the role emphasizes safety, teamwork and adherence to OEM requirements. A positive attitude and strong communication are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • NSW drivers licence required.
  • Strong safety focus and teamwork.
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining pumps and pipelines in mining or similar environment highly desirable.
  • Good record keeping and documentation skills.
  • Poly welding experience and dogging cert are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor pump performance and adjust settings to maintain optimal operation.
  • Regularly inspect pump systems for wear, leaks or issues.
  • Comply with operational plans and safety guidelines.
  • Notify Mine Services Supervisor of deviations or issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of pump operations and spare parts inventory.
  • Participate in training to improve pump operation skills.

Job Description

Reporting to the Mine Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for installing, operating, and troubleshooting various types of pumps used in the mining industry. This role requires a strong understanding of pump systems, safety protocols, and teamwork.

About the Role
  • Monitoring pump performance and adjust settings as needed to maintain optimal operation.
  • Conducting regular inspections of pump systems to identify wear and tear, leaks, or other issues.
  • Complying and execute all work requirements in accordance with operational plans.
  • Adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Communicating any deviations to plans to the Mine Services Supervisor.
  • Maintaining accurate records of pump operations activities, and inventory of spare parts.
  • Participating in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in pump operations.
  • Ensuring pumps are working in accordance with the OEM requirements.
  • Advising Supervisors as soon as an issue or concern is identified that has the potential to prevent mining operations from being achieved.
  • Sharing knowledge and expertise with team members to foster continuous learning and improvement within the crew.
Roster and Location
  • Lifestyle Day / Night 12.5hr Roster
  • Based in the West Facility
About You

To be successful in securing this role, you must have:

  • A NSW Drivers Licence;
  • A positive and can-do attitude;
  • A strong focus on safety;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills;
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability for good record-keeping and documentation.
  • Previous experience in operating and maintaining pumps and pipelines in a mining or similar environment is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of pump types, components, and systems would be highly regarded
  • Poly Welding experience is desirable
  • A Dogging Certificate is not essential but will be viewed favourably
