Job summary

Fenner Conveyors is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join the Pulley team in Mackay. You will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, servicing, repair, and assembly of conveyor components, with emphasis on pulleys, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and quality standards.

The role offers a 4-day rostered week, providing a strong work-life balance and opportunities to contribute to major national projects within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with minimum 3 years in heavy industrial fitting.
• Experience assembling conveyor equipment and components.
• Experience fitting and aligning gearboxes and motors, including laser alignment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical fitting tasks in workshop and workshop areas.
• Fit and align gearboxes and motors with laser alignment.
• Install and remove couplings and perform general assembly of conveyor equipment.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, servicing and repairs on conveyors.
• Diagnose faults and ensure high performance of equipment.
• Produce accurate records during refurbishment activities.
• Operate workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Provide practical mechanical solutions for customer equipment issues.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to guide work.
