Job summary

Blacktown City Council is hiring a trade-qualified Gardener to maintain formal gardens, CBD areas and public spaces across our city. You will work in a crew focused on presentation, safety and consistent standards while delivering high-quality outdoor spaces for residents.

The role involves mowing, edging, hedge trimming, irrigation checks and plant health monitoring, plus planting and minor landscaping tasks. A permanent full-time position with extensive training is available.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Gardener with demonstrated horticultural skills.

Responsibilities

• Mow and edge lawns, maintain garden beds and trim hedges.
• Check irrigation systems and monitor plant health.
• Plant trees and shrubs, apply mulch and control weeds.
• Operate equipment such as mowers, edgers and whipper snippers.
• Identify hazards, keep sites clean and safe, assist apprentices, maintain high horticultural standards.
