Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a trade-qualified Gardener to maintain parks, gardens and public spaces in Sydney. You will work in crews on formal gardens, CBD landscapes, and community hubs, performing mowing, hedge work, irrigation checks, planting and minor landscaping.

The role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work and leads by example, with a secure, permanent full-time position and competitive leave entitlements. A rostered day off every fortnight and 12% superannuation are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in parks or greenspace maintenance.
• Ability to operate gardening equipment safely.
• Commitment to high horticultural standards.

Responsibilities

• Mowing and edging lawns to a neat finish.
• Maintaining garden beds and hedges.
• Checking irrigation systems and plant health.
• Planting trees and shrubs and mulching beds.
• Undertaking minor landscaping and operating equipment.
• Identifying hazards and keeping sites safe.
• Assisting apprentices and ensuring quality work.
