Job summary

Funding Program Officer | 6-Month Contract | Strathpine

Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a local government client to support them in recruiting for a Funding Program Officer on a 6-month contract based in Strathpine.

About the role

• Pay rate of $52.59 to $54.82 per hour + super
• Immediate start (Monday 12 October 2026) through to April 2027, with extension potential
• 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Sits within the Infrastructure Planning directorate, reporting to the Principal, Program Management
• Identify grant funding opportunities, primarily from the Queensland and Australian Governments
• Advise internal stakeholders on grant eligibility and prepare high-quality funding applications
• Prepare funding agreements and progress them through internal governance for execution
• Track milestones, risks and compliance across a program of funded infrastructure projects
• Ensure project managers understand and meet grant requirements
• Complete progress reporting, raise invoice requests and claim grant funding
• Contribute to business process and system improvements for grant management

Preferred Requirements

• Considerable experience managing grant funding, either as a recipient or administering a grant program
• Strong understanding of government funding guidelines and compliance requirements
• Experience managing and delivering a range of funding programs
• Experience using grant management systems, with strong attention to detail
• Basic understanding of council infrastructure projects and planning
• Highly developed written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
• Understanding of internal governance and finance processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in business, public administration, finance, project management or a related field (desirable)
• Experience with infrastructure, transport or capital works funding programs (highly regarded)
