Job summary

Coonabarabran High School in regional NSW is seeking a School Counsellor to join NSW Government's Department of Education. The role provides counselling and psychological assessment to support student learning and wellbeing, with opportunities to work across primary and high school ages in a collaborative, supportive team.

The base salary ranges from AUD 104,156 to 165,812 per year, with total remuneration up to AUD 187,933 including leave loading and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve the learning and wellbeing outcomes of children and young people including students from diverse backgrounds and needs.

Responsibilities

• School counsellors receive regular supervision and participate in group and peer supervision as part of the district school counselling team.
