Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC in Melbourne seeks a manager, public law & litigation to lead lawyers advising on government decisions and court cases. You will help ministers and the department resolve complex legal issues.

You will provide clear legal and policy advice, manage sensitive court cases, research complex legal questions, and guide the preparation of legal documents while building an inclusive team and strong intergovernmental relationships.

Qualifications

• Admission to practise law in Victoria (or eligibility for admission) is required.
• Experience advising on public or administrative law, or civil/criminal litigation.

Responsabilités

• Lead a team of lawyers on complex government matters.
• Provide clear legal and policy advice to ministers and the department.
• Manage sensitive court cases, including class actions and major disputes.
• Research complex legal questions, interpret laws and guide document preparation.
• Lead and mentor lawyers, plan workloads, and build an inclusive team.
