Job summary

The Batesford Hotel is a busy country pub just outside Geelong, offering quality food and efficient service. We are looking for a chef to join our kitchen team and work across sections during service, maintaining high standards and a well‑organised environment.

You should have experience in a busy environment, be reliable and able to work across weekdays, evenings and weekends. Trade qualifications are highly regarded and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef in a busy restaurant/pub or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking dishes consistently to our standards.
• Working across multiple kitchen sections during service.
• Completing prep efficiently and ensuring your section is service-ready.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and organisation.
• Assisting with stock rotation, storage and waste control.
• Communicating effectively with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team.
• Supporting other team members during busy services.
• Contributing to a positive, professional and well‑organised kitchen environment.
