Job summary

Wellways Australia is recruiting for a Wellbeing Worker within the Gippsland Psychosocial Support Services. The role focuses on intake, assessment, and early care planning for participants navigating mental health and disability supports.

You will work across a cooperative team, coordinating referrals, screening for NDIS eligibility, and fostering community-based recovery pathways for people with complex needs. This role emphasises access, collaboration, and compassionate outreach.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or relevant experience in Mental Health or related discipline
• Driver’s license and ability to travel for the role
• Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Right to Work in Australia
• NDIS Module
• National Police Records Check

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day intake and assessment for Gippsland Region of Wellways
• Support referrals to services for hard-to-reach clients
• Screen eligibility for NDIS programs
• Undertake initial needs assessment for community mental health service
• Coordinate referrals and strengthen links between clinical and community supports
• Facilitate group activities around capacity building
• Promote a community-based recovery model for complex needs cases
• Wait-list management and data collection
