Job summary

SAL Consulting is seeking a Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary clinical team in NSW, based in Sydney. You’ll work across developmental, behavioural and mental health areas, delivering assessments and therapy within individuals, families and service systems.

This role offers professional supervision, flexible hours, and opportunities for endorsement pathways within a supportive practice. The position is based in Sydney and involves collaboration with education, disability and justice

Qualifications

• Must hold a Degree in Psychology and be registered with AHPRA.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary settings and trauma-informed practice.
• Ability to conduct assessments and provide evidence-based therapy across diverse presentations.
• Willingness to engage with NDIA funding environments and service systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

You'll combine direct clinical work with assessment, intervention, consultation, multidisciplinary collaboration, mentoring and discipline development activities.

Your work will include:

• Delivering high-quality services across community, clinic, school and telehealth settings

Our work in Sydney is varied and provides a strong base in working with people with a range of underlying developmental and mental health related issues. Our Sydney team complete a range of assessments with diverse client populations, including Early childhood developmental, FASD, ASD, Psychosocial, Behavioural, Parenting capacity, Dementia, Forensic assessment. The use of assessments relating to learning difficulties, executive functioning, depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. are also utilised as appropriate.

Psychological intervention, therapy and behaviour support services are provided using a diverse range of modalities inclusive of individual, family based and service system interventions.

Our client groups are diverse, and while largely funded through the NDIS, are inclusive of a wide range of presentations stemming from developmental trauma, developmental disability, neuro developmental disorders, traumatic brain injury, and mental health issues.

Mandatory Requirements

• Degree in Psychology or equivalent
• Unconditional General Registration with AHPRA
• Obtained (or willingness to obtain) Suitable Behaviour Support Practitioner assessment against the NDIS capability framework
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to obtain these prior to commencement
• Experience working within at least one relevant funding environment (e.g. NDIS, education, child protection, health, justice or related sectors)
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting developing practitioners

Highly Regarded

• Experience in working with people with intellectual disability, trauma histories and complex support needs
• Experience conducting complex psychological assessments
• Experience working collaboratively with families, support networks and multidisciplinary teams to achieve outcomes in everyday environments
