Job summary

Think Psychologists in Geelong is seeking an Early Career Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will deliver assessments, provide evidence-based interventions, and support children and families using compassionate, child-centered care.

We welcome provisional or fully registered psychologists. This role offers flexible part-time work (minimum three days), strong supervision, professional development, and a supportive team committed to evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Full or provisional registration as a psychologist.
• Completed an approved psychology program or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and therapies.
• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills with clear clinical conceptualisation.
• Excellent communication with children and families and within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to determine needs.
• Provide evidence-based interventions and therapy for children and families.
• Develop individualised supports addressing presenting concerns and goals.
• Maintain detailed clinical notes and documentation per requirements.
• Collaborate with GPs, psychiatrists and allied health professionals for holistic care.
• Provide consultation to educators, families and carers where appropriate.

• Contribute to ongoing evaluation of psychological services.

Early Career Psychologist - Think Psychologists

About the role

Think Psychologists is seeking a provisional or fully registered Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in Geelong. This is a full or part-time position (minimum three days) offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families through evidence-based psychological intervention and support. As a Psychologist, you will be central to delivering high-quality mental health services, conducting assessments, and providing therapeutic intervention. This role is pivotal in advancing our mission to provide accessible, compassionate, and effective psychological care within the Geelong community.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to determine mental health needs
• Providing evidence-based psychological interventions and therapy, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and other appropriate modalities
• Developing and implementing individualised supports tailored to each young person's presenting concerns and goals
• Maintaining detailed and accurate case notes and clinical documentation in accordance with professional and legal requirements
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, psychiatrists, and allied health practitioners, to ensure coordinated and holistic care
• Providing consultation and advice to educators, families and carers where appropriate
• Participating in supervision and professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills
• Contributing to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of psychological services

What we're looking for

• Full or provisional registration as a psychologist
• Completion of an approved psychology program or equivalent experience demonstrating competency in psychological practice
• Current knowledge of evidence-based psychological interventions and therapeutic approaches
• Strong assessment and diagnostic skills with the ability to formulate and communicate clinical conceptualisations clearly
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work empathetically and effectively with children and families
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Commitment to professional development, ongoing learning, and adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards
• Experience working in community mental health, private practice, or healthcare settings is highly valued
